NUR 709 Joining the Practice Setting: Elements of the Nurse Educator Role

Corequisite: NUR 621, NUR 624, NUR 644, NUR 716 and Nursing Elective.

Course Description: This course prepares students to learn the educator role in practice settings, including staff development and continuing education. Topics include legal and ethical issues, cultural diversity, accreditation, budgeting, testing, and curriculum development. During the practicum, students have an opportunity to practice the role of educator in a health care setting, using principles of total quality management.
