Early Childhood-Childhood Education Major

Early Childhood/Childhood Education (New York City & Westchester): This program is for students interested in teaching children in day care centers, preschools, and public schools (birth - grade 6). Early Childhood Education/Childhood Education majors also complete a 30-credit concentration in Pace's Dyson College of Arts and Sciences in Biology, English, History, or Mathematics on either campus. Candidates who are interested in a concentration in Spanish can do so on the New York campus only. Candidates will be involved in a rich variety of clinical field experiences throughout the program which culminates in a five-day student teaching internship during the spring semester of senior year. This course of study results in a Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood/Childhood Education and, upon completion of certification exams, will result in two certifications in both Early Childhood and Childhood Education allowing them to teach children, birth through grades 6 in New York state.
