BUS 150H Contemporary Business Practice - Learning Community

Required for all business majors ( except Public Accounting majors) and should be taken prior to completion of 45 credits. This course may be taken as a free elective by non-Business majors. New Core: Fulfills 3 credits in Inquiry and Exploration for non-Business majors and Public Accounting majors.

Course Description: What can we learn from the corporate scandals over the last century? A thorough understanding of information technology and the functions of business (accounting, finance, marketing and management) and their ethical issues will help avoid problems. This paired learning community will address these issues and develop students' skills in teamwork, decision-making, time management, computer-based research, analysis, and oral presentations. Students wil learn computer skills that will help them succeed in a competitive business simulation.
