GLA 331 Culture and Governance in Asia

Prerequisite: Student must be a Global Asia Studies or History major, and junior standing required. New Core: Fulfills 3 credits in World Traditions and Cultures (Area of Knowledge III).

Course Description: This interdisciplinary Global Asia seminar studies how debates about culture and governance interact in the studies of Asia.

Course Rotation: NYC: Fall.

GLA 332 Confucian Capitalism: Modernization in East Asia

Prerequisite: Junior standing required.

Course Description: This course discusses the complicated relations between Confucian ethics and economic development in a variety of settings, and the rise of "multiple capitalisms" in East Asia.
