MGT 051 Hotel Internship I

Prerequisite: Junior standing in Hotel Management Concentration.

Course Description: This course introduces the student to the hotel industry. Job search strategies and the requirement of the hotel management internship are outlined. Career and academic planning are also provided. Students meet several times during the semester with the instructor. Field trips to local hotels may also be arranged depending on individual student needs.

MGT 052 Hotel Internship II

Course Description: In order to fulfill the requirement of this internship, the student must demonstrate 400 hours of hotel industry work experience. An employer's performance evaluation is required. Employers must verify the number of hours worked and the nature of the student's job duties. Student must also complete a report describing what they have learned from the internship experience. The student may take two consecutive semesters to complete these requirements.
