MGT 316 Venture Initiation and Entrepreneurship

Prerequisite: MGT 250 and junior standing.

Course Description: This course examines the nature and environment of entrepreneurship. Students learn to recognize and develop entrepreneurial skills by examining and analyzing the strategies employed by practicing entrepreneurs in creating and building new ventures. Particular attention is given to the criteria used in assessing the feasibility of new venture ideas and opportunities. Each student is required to develop a personal entrepreneurial strategy identifying areas of personal strength and areas where growth is needed in order to achieve individual goals of creating and building a new business venture.

Course Rotation: NYC: Fall and Spring. PLV: Fall.
